Dear family and friends,
On spring break a lot of students from college campuses around the country embark on trips to various places. Some go for recreation, some for the party scene and some to just visit family. I am spending my spring break this year with a team of college students going on a mission trip to Ephriam, Utah. We will be working with Chip and Jamie Thompson and Tri Grace Ministries at the Solid Rock Cafe college house and minister to fellow college students. The focus of our trip will be directed at witnessing to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints (mormons). Chip and Jamie have been ministering to the LDS people for over 15 years now in Utah and started this college house as an outreach to the mormon college students at Snow College. For our trip we have been reading The Mormon Scrapbook in preparation. Also for preparation we attended the local mormon ward. Ward is what mormons call their church service. It was incredibly boring, but a real eye-opener to just what they actually believe and how incredibly lost the LDS people are.
Our plan is to leave Friday the 8th From LeTourneau and arrive either saturday night or sunday morning. Sunday morning we plan to attend the local Christian church. Ephriam is about 95% mormon and the Christian church is the only one in the area. We will spend Sunday with the Christian college students, just hanging out with them and encouraging them. The rest of the week we will spend either going to Temple Square and conversing with the Mormon missionaries there or Dorm storming at Snow College. During the week, we plan to visit a polygamist colony and talk to some of the members, share the gospel with them. Later in the week we will be having a Mexican Food night at the college house and inviting over the college students from the dorms. I am really excited about going on this trip and I am excited to see what God is going to do!
Things to pray for:
Traveling to Utah and back. Pray for safety.
Opportunities to share the gospel.
For the team. Pray for unity and boldness. Pray for good health.
That God will give us the words to say at the right time.
His Guidance and will be carries out.
If you would like to do more than pray, the costs of the trip is $275. I am trying to pay as much of this as I can on my own but I am a college student and don't have much money. If you would like to donate to my trip send your money to me.
With love for Christ;
Micah Chasteen
